EnKage ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered gamification and loyalty application designed for merchants using the Shopify platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share Personal Information when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify store.
By installing and using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our autonomous engagement and gamification services—including AI-driven customer segmentation and dynamic reward optimization—we collect specific types of data from your Shopify store and your customers.
A. Information from Merchants
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

Shopify Store Data: Store name, primary domain, currency, time zone, and shop email address.

App Usage Data: Configurations for your "Smart Wheel," "Battle Passes," and budget settings.
B. Information from End Users (Your Customers)
To power our Agentic AI engine and facilitate features like "Smart Segments" (New, Returning, VIP, Sleeping), we collect the following data about your store's customers:

Identity Data: Name, email address, and customer ID.

Transactional Data: Order history, total amount spent, order count, and last purchase date. We use this to calculate Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and automatically assign customers to the correct loyalty tier.

Behavioral Data: Browsing activity, session duration, and interaction with gamification elements (e.g., spin wheel results, quest completion status, streak maintenance).

Device Information: IP address, browser type, and device type (mobile vs. desktop). This is used to render the appropriate mobile-first overlay or desktop interface.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
1. AI Segmentation & Personalization: To automatically segment customers into behavioral groups (e.g., placing customers with >4 orders into the "VIP" segment) and dynamically adjust reward probabilities based on that segment.
2. Gamification Execution: To track "Streaks," manage "Battle Pass" progression, and validate "Quests" (e.g., verifying if a customer visited 3 days in a row).
3. Reward Redemption: To generate unique discount codes via Shopify Functions and inject them directly into the checkout flow using Checkout Extensibility.
4. Churn Prevention: To analyze order intervals and automatically trigger re-engagement offers for "Sleeping" customers (those inactive for 90+ days).
5. Service Improvement: To train our AI models to better predict conversion probabilities and optimize reward costs for merchants.
3. Data Transfer and Storage (Headless Architecture)
Enkage operates as a Headless Application. This means that while the App interface appears within your Shopify Admin or Storefront:

External Processing: Data is securely transmitted to and processed on our external infrastructure (hosted on providers such as AWS or Google Cloud) to handle complex game logic and AI processing that exceeds standard Shopify API rate limits.

Shopify App Bridge: We use Shopify App Bridge to render the user interface seamlessly within your store.
By using the App, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer of data to our secure external servers for processing.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell Merchant or End User personal data. We share data only with the following third parties to facilitate App functionality:

Cloud Infrastructure Providers: (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) for hosting our game engine and database.

Integrated Services: If you actively enable integrations, we share relevant game event data with your other installed apps, such as:

Email Marketing Platforms: (e.g., Klaviyo) to send "Quest Completed" or "Streak Risk" emails.

Automation Tools: (e.g., Shopify Flow) to trigger store workflows based on loyalty status.

5. Automated Decision Making
The App uses automated decision-making algorithms (AI) to:

Determine the value and probability of rewards a customer sees (e.g., a "New" visitor may see higher odds for a welcome discount than a "VIP").

Classify customers into segments without manual merchant intervention.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services or as required by law.

Merchant Data: Retained for the duration of your installation. If you uninstall the App, we will delete your configuration data within [Insert Number, e.g., 90] days, or sooner upon request, in accordance with Shopify’s data deletion mandates.

Customer Game Data: Retained to maintain "Lifetime" stats, badges, and streaks.
7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
If you are a merchant located in Europe (GDPR) or California (CCPA), or if your customers are:

Access & Deletion: You have the right to request access to or deletion of personal data we hold.

Shopify Data Requests: We comply fully with Shopify’s mandatory webhooks for customers/data_request and customers/redact. When you process a data deletion request through your Shopify Admin, we automatically purge the associated data from our external servers.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date."
